Craig Larkin This is lovely, so soft and folk and nice and uplifting and also nice. It's well recorded/produced and I like the contrast of style through the 3 songs, Long Walk is the stand out for me! Favorite track: Long Walk.

Downhill 04:00
there's a fire here inside my home it used to burn so slow but you've always been lit up so bright your innocence is so alive so let's go down, so let's go downhill don't you want to know what's real? so let's go down, so let's go downhill don't you want to know how they must feel? didn't know what to do with all this time now I've figured out what is wrong and what is right and now we must hear the cries and see the fear and we've got a long long way to go from here so let's go down, so let's go downhill don't you want to know what's real? so let's go down, so let's go downhill don't you want to know how they must feel? how they must feel how they must feel how they must feel how they must feel so let's go down, so let's go downhill don't you want to know what's real? so let's go down, so let's go downhill don't you want to know how they must feel?

Ocean 04:00
Oh id love to stay swimming in these cold dark waters I know that I belong here, with the fish and the turtles Could I set Myself free? Or Would there be no way? Theres no one to help me and the strength in my body gave way The ocean is my home and how I love How I love, the darkness of the deeper parts The ocean is my home and how I love How I love, the darkness of the deeper parts We are dispossessed, of all we know And we’re suffocated, in open dry and pounding air The ocean is my home and how I love How I love, the darkness of the deeper parts (deeper parts deeper parts) The ocean is my home and how I love How I love, the darkness of the deeper parts (deeper parts deeper parts) The darkness of the deeper parts The darkness of the deeper parts The darkness of the deeper parts The darkness of the deeper parts The darkness of the deeper parts The darkness of the deeper parts The darkness of the deeper parts The darkness of the deeper parts

about

This is my first EP that I've released since I was 16, and I'm so thankful to everyone who has helped me create it! Me and Lizzie Arnold started recording the tracks in February 2019, in Abbey Road Studios where Lizzie was working at the time. It was an absolute DREAM to record there and I'm so grateful to Lizzie for inviting me and sharing her skills and musicality with me <3
Since then, I released 'Ocean', produced by Lizzie Arnold, which was a huge deal for me as it was my first proper song release in 3 years, and it was the first song I'd written with the desire to express my sadness about the way humans are treating non-human animals. The absolutely mind bogglingly incredible animated video that Shali Reddy created to go with the song couldn't have been more perfect in conveying all the emotion and intensity around what is happening in our oceans right now.
Jake Bright took over from Lizzie with the production (because of some Covid related complications) and he has mixed and produced all 3 tracks on this EP. I can't get over how much I LOVE the sound he's given to all 3 tracks (he's done a re-mix of Ocean for the EP....!)
You've just heard 'Downhill', which is a song about many different things....things that I will reveal in a future post....and the last track on this EP is the title track 'Long Walk'. I will also do a post dedicated to explaining the sentiment and meaning behind this song...
The whole EP is centred around having more compassion for non-human animals. As a species, we are so unnecessarily destructive and cruel to other animals and I really want to try and use my voice to encourage people to reflect on their choices and hopefully encourage people to become vegan. We don't need to use, exploit or kill animals to survive in this society and we can choose not to pay for products that do those things.
The artwork for the EP cover is inspired by the Vegan flag, the green triangle representing land animals, the two blue sections representing flying and marine animals and the white section representing our unity. There's a picture of me as a child playing the violin because I feel like I've gone on such a long journey to realise that I want to use my musical voice to sing and play for the animals.
Lastly, I want to give a HUGE shoutout to everyone who has played on this EP and given their time to it....
